This manuscript "containing the text of the 'gospel' appeared about 30 years ago on the Egyptian antiquities market. It had last been heard of in AD180, when Saint Irenaeus, a bishop, condemned it as heretical." The original text of the Gospel of Judas "is written in Coptic, the language used in Egypt when the country converted to Christianity halfway through the third century AD." Roman Catholic writer, Vittorio Messori, "noted that Jesus' choice of Judas as a disciple in the first place seemed to show a slip of judgment." However Miessori added that "If the gospels had been invented, the figure of Judas just wouldn't be there because he's so embarrassing."

Editor’s Comment: It was no "slip of Judgment" for "…Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him" John 6:64.

One marriage counselor said half the couples she dealt with sought to "…stay together because they cannot afford not to."

www.Canada.com 27 March, 2006 JESUS PAPERS AUTHOR PRAYS FOR A DA VINCI-SIZED PAYDAY (Edited by DCB) "Just in time for Easter comes the challenging and provocative new book, The Jesus Papers: Exposing the Greatest Cover-Up in History, a work of history - or psuedo-history perhaps - that debunks everything from the virgin birth to the resurrection." There is money in this sort of book as is seen from Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code. According to this article Brown "has banked an astonishing $400 million so far…" This does not include "the dough from the upcoming Ron Howard-directed movie starring Tom Hanks."

Professor Doron Nof and his co-authors "theorize that a rare combination of optimal water and atmospheric conditions resulted in a unique, localized freezing phenomenon called ‘springs ice’." Norf said that "As natural scientists, we simply explain that unique freezing processes probably happened in that region only a handful of times during the last 12,000 years." He and the other scientists would leave "…to others the question of whether or not our research explains the biblical account." Norf also believes there is a natural explanation to the Israelites crossing the Red Sea. He "suggests a combination of strong winds and a land ridge in the Red Sea could explain how Moses was able to lead the Israelites to safety from the pursuing Egyptian army."

Editor’s Comment : Matthew 14: 30 says Peter was walking to Jesus when he, Peter, began to sink. This led Peter to cry "Lord, save me." According to these scientists Peter must have reached a very thin piece of ice!

This is all a part of the "new 70-hour Genesis-through-Revelation dramatic audio performance of the Scriptures" financed by Zondervan." Also among the eighty celebrities taking part in this project is "Hip-hopper Heavy D" reading the "Apostle Andrew". It is said the purpose of this project is "…to give life to even the dullest sections." The co-producer of the project said that they were taking God’s "word and we're gel-capping it: surrounding it with elements that make it more palatable for mass consumption in today's marketplace (underlining by the editor)." Paul Caminiti, publisher of Bibles for Zondervan, said "We're trying to engage a new urban generation, and most are already turned off by the memory of the King James' archaic translation." The text used for this project is "Today's New International Version."
