17 November 2005 (Edited by DCB) IS ABWE DRIFTING OR ANCHORED IN
COMPROMISE? Having separated myself from ABWE in the early 90’s I have
continued to follow their path of compromise. On the ABWE home page is: "ABWE
partners with Mission Network News (MNN) to carry up-to-date reports of
mission work around the world. Read news reports from other missions, as
well as from ABWE." I clicked on this and this is what I found. http://www.abwe.org/news/mnn/

Editor’s Comment: The sincerity of the Romanian Baptist
pastors and people are not the issue. The issue is their affiliations.
What does this Internet trail reveal to a separatist? It reveals
alignments of out and out compromise. It leads to the conclusion (at least
to a separatist) that ABWE is no longer drifting in the sea of compromise
but has anchored itself in the sea. NOTE THE Partnership agreement
includes: the Missouri Baptist Convention and the International Mission
Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. NOTE one of the partners of the
Indigenous Missionary Project is the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship! The
long cold hand of compromise reaches into the very core of the ABWE! Fifty
years ago independent Baptists would have recoiled at this arrangement but
sadly some who still call themselves independent Baptist do not even blink
an eye when they read about such compromise today. If these independent
Baptists think it is not compromise to associate and work with the SBC on
foreign fields through ABWE why do they not formally join the SBC in the
United States. At least as an SBC church their missionaries under the
International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention would save
a lot of money and time. They wouldn’t need to spend two to four years
warming the highways seeking financial support with a so called
independent Baptist faith mission. In fact if ABWE does not see working
with the SBC on foreign fields is not compromise then ABWE should be
honest and shut its doors and seek a merger with the International Mission
Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. That would not only be cost
effective but it would be up front with supporters saying "since we can
work with the SBC on the foreign fields we will join them in the USA as
well." But then some jobs and positions may be lost and we would not want
that, would we?
Yours against apostasy and for Biblical Truth, David C.
