Editorial by DCB: The liberal leftist media, the Bible denying religious crowd, and the arrogant leftist film and television industry are pushing ever so vigorously their homosexual-lesbian agenda. Most of the articles within this issue concern this sin.

I was licensed to preach in March 1970 and ordained into the Baptist ministry in July 1974. During these years I have seen Baptist preachers commit adultery and continue in the ministry. I have seen divorce and re-marriage become widely accepted among the churches and by those in the Baptist ministry. If history is a lesson in the past of what will happen in the future and if the Lord tarries I shudder to think that this heinous sin of sodomy will also be accepted among the Baptists. 1Peter 4:17 "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"

Sermon – 21 May 2003 REBUKE DOESN'T STOP PCUSA PASTOR: 2 WOMEN WED (Edited by DCB) "He's done it again. Mount Auburn Presbyterian Church Pastor Stephen Van Kuiken has performed another same-sex marriage, this time wedding two women Saturday at his church."

This wedding is the first "Van Kuiken has performed since being found guilty in an ecclesiastical trial of performing same-sex marriages. The Presbytery of Cincinnati ordered the 44-year-old pastor to stop officiating such weddings, which they say violate Scripture and church law, or he could be removed from his ministry."

Van Kuiken said "his conscience won't allow him to stop performing the marriages, or call them by another name such as ‘holy unions’ as the church would like." He went on to say homosexual marriages "are real marriages in every sense, and homosexual people want them to be recognized and celebrated as such by the church."

The moderator of the Cincinnati Presbytery, Rev. Melissa Sevier, said "it is unclear exactly what recourse the church has." She went on to say "there probably won't be enforcement action taken against Van Kuiken until his appeal has run its course. If the church holds up the ruling against the pastor at each level, then a new complaint will likely have to be filed against him before any action is taken."

Editor’s Comment: As to Van Kuiken’s conscience 1Ti 4:2 comes to mind which says "Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron." As for the Presbyterian Church USA I recommend they obey 2Ti 2:19 " Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity." and Eph 5:11 "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."

Sermon downloaded 21 May, 2003 CANADIAN MILITARY CHAPLAINS READY TO BLESS GAY MARRIAGES (Edited by DCB) 14 March 2003

"Military chaplains are considering offering same-sex marriage ceremonies as a gesture to help homosexual service people feel more at ease in the Canadian Armed Forces."

Anglican army chaplains "are discussing making themselves available for ‘blessings’ of gay and lesbian couples."

A Canadian Defence Department official "said there is nothing stopping a chaplain from officiating at the union of a gay or lesbian soldier."

While this controversy over same sex marriages is debated a Church of God in Canada Pastor said Canadian "Chaplains are required to leave out references to Jesus and other exclusively Christian terminology in public services directed to troops of all faiths, so as not to offend non-Christian personnel."

Editor’s Comment: Woe is me! Jeremiah 2:8 "The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit."

ENS May 24, 2003 SEEKING RECONCILIATION, L.A. CONVERSATION ENCOMPASSES MANY VIEWS ON BLESSING SAME-GENDER UNIONS (Edited by DCB) Seventy Episcopalians met May 7-11 in LA to discuss "their differing views on liturgical blessings for same-gender unions."

Barbara Cavin, of the Holy Spirit, Livonia, Michigan, said "As people get to know gays and lesbians, then blessing of same-gender unions isn't just an issue, it's people you're talking about."

Michael Hopkins, rector of St. George’s, Glen Dale, Maryland and president of Integrity, a national organization of gays and lesbians and their friends said "….I am convinced that an official but optional rite for blessing same-sex unions is essential for the future of the Church."

Editor’s Comment: Ro 1:27 "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."

Agape News 29 May 2003

"...The Traditional Values Coalition is asking its 43,000 member churches to protest plans for a homosexual dating show called Boy Meets Boy on the Bravo cable network. The Coalition's executive director, Andrea Lafferty, says: ‘Just when you think programming can't get any worse, it seems like it drops another 100 feet to an even darker place.’ She adds, ‘What's next after Boy Meets Boy? -- Boy Meets Sheep?’ Bravo also is scheduling another summer series called Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, in which five homosexual designers make over the wardrobe of a heterosexual man."

Editor’s Comment: We are at war (Eph. 6) and God’s men (Independent Baptist preachers) need to be speaking out against the immorality and looseness of the day. Baptist Churches need men with clean hands and holy hearts taking "the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" into the very midst of the fray for "who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"

ACNS CANADA 29 MAY 2003 RITE OF BLESSING AUTHORISED IN DIOCESE OF NEW WESTMINSTER (Edited by DCB) "[Diocese of New Westminster, Anglican Church of Canada] Clergy in six parishes within the Diocese of New Westminster have been authorised to perform a rite of blessing of committed same sex unions. In so doing, all provisions of the motion passed by Diocesan Synod in June, 2002, are now fulfilled."

This motion requested that the bishop "authorise a rite of blessing of homosexual couples."

The bishop "issued the rite of blessing to the parishes on Friday 23 May, in advance of the Diocesan Synod, May 30-31." In a letter the bishop said "This is not a marriage ceremony, but a blessing of permanent and faithful commitments between persons of the same sex in order that they may have the support and encouragement of the church in their lives together under God."

Editor’s Comment: Psalm 83: 16 "Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD."

"Tens of thousands of Christians from Germany and beyond are gathering in Berlin starting May 28 for what organizers believe may be the biggest ecumenical gathering to have taken place in Europe.

About 200,000 people were expected for the five-day event, called the Ecumenical Kirchentag, or church congress, sponsored by Germany's Protestant and Roman Catholic denominations, which claim the loyalty of roughly 26 million members each."

Protestant co-president, Elisabeth Raiser, said "We had never anticipated participation on such a huge scale. This is a sign of just how much Christians are looking for what unites them. People are obviously fascinated by the idea of helping to shape ecumenism and not simply leaving it to theologians and church leaders."

Editor’s Comment: Galatians 1: 8 "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed."

Yours against apostasy and for Biblical Truth,
