Standing unashamedly for the King James Bible BIBLE SCHOOL TO USE HARRY POTTER THEME August 17, 2005 (Edited by DCB) "CARLISLE, Pa. -- A church in Carlisle has decided to use J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter tales in its Bible school. Saint John's Episcopal Church has doubled vacation Bible school enrollment since doing so."

Bible school preschoolers "…take flying lessons on miniature broomsticks at a makeshift Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft" while the older students play a game "Quidditch."

Editor’s Comment: This Bible school is not of God and is totally opposite of that event which took place in Ephesus recorded in Acts 19: 19-20 where we read "Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. 20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed."

Daily Telegraph, Sydney, 20 August 2005- POPE LAMENTS CHRISTIAN DISUNITY (Edited by DCB) POPE Benedict XVI said a priority of his papacy was "…making full Christian unity…" He went on to tell "…the Church leaders, who included Germany's Protestant Churches as well as Orthodox Christians, that as a German he was aware of the ‘painful situation which the rupture of unity’ had caused for families of mixed denominations." He declared that this situation needed to be addressed and Christians expected "…further concrete steps to bring us closer together."

The head of the German Evangelical Church said "…it had been an excellent meeting with the Pope" and that "In Germany we have many families of mixed denominations and that means we cannot leave this topic to one side. We have to give them a home in our churches."

Editor’s Comment: Revelation 2: 20-23 "…because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts."

Agape Press 23 August 2005 SURVEY: TWO-THIRDS OF EVANGELICALS DOUBT JESUS' WORDS REGARDING SALVATION THRU HIM ALONE (Edited by DCB) A Newsweek/Beliefnet poll "…points to a growing rejection among Evangelicals that Jesus is the only way of salvation." To top it off those polled claimed to be born-again evangelicals!

"The question in the poll read: ‘Can a good person who isn't of your religious faith go to heaven or attain salvation, or not?’

According to the poll results of more than 1,000 adults 18 years of age and older, 68 percent of evangelical Christians believe ‘good’ people of other faiths can also go to heaven. Nationally, 79 percent of those surveyed said the same thing, with an ‘astounding’ 91 percent agreement among Catholics…"

The spokesman for the poll said this has come about because "…Americans have become so focused on a very personal style of worship -- that is, forging a direct relationship with God -- that spiritual experience has begun to supplant dogma, or teaching based on the authority of the Bible."

Editor’s Comment: John 17: 17 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." 14 August 2005 A NEW HOLY ALLIANCE (Edited by DCB) William Donohue leads the Manhattan, NY based "conservative Catholic group" Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights. This was his second time to "appear with some of the most influential evangelical leaders in America, for "Justice Sunday II". This rally was telecast from the Southern Baptist "Two Rivers Baptist Church" in Nashville, TN.

"Donohue's involvement is the latest sign of the growing alliance between conservative Catholics and evangelical Christians, which is reshaping American politics and culture." He accepts that there are "theological differences" between him and the evangelicals but "the culture war battles over abortion, same-sex marriage and school vouchers are so important that they dwarf the old antagonisms."

From his office "decorated with photos of the late Cardinal John O'Connor and actor Mel Gibson" Donohue said there is an attempt to "marginalize" the voices of those "Traditional-minded people of faith from all religious backgrounds…"

Editor’s Comment: Perhaps this is one reason why so many "evangelicals" believe "good" people of other faiths can also go to heaven."

Email from The Berean 28 July 2005 CALL INDONESIAN PRESIDENT ISSUES DECREE TO STOP EVANGELISM IN ACEH (Edited by DCB) "The Indonesian president has released a decree (Kepres) that forbids evangelism in Aceh and asked [mission organizations] to stop their evangelism activities in Aceh."

"Following the decree, [a Muslim group] has asked police and local government to run an investigation and find evidence on any reports on evangelism submitted by people in Aceh. ‘The police have to become more pro-active in managing this issues,’" said Muslim leader, Muslim Ibrahim. World Vision has "…promised not to run evangelism activities and will help report any evangelism cases." "[TBC: The same religion which is spread by the sword can tolerate no threats to it domination.]"

Editor’s Comment: Acts 5:29 "Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men."
