Standing unashamedly for the King James Bible

Jerusalem Post.com 4 October 2005 RAMADAN BEGINS IN MUSLIM WORLD (Edited by DCB) "Even before the Bali bombings, the Middle East was jittery as it headed into Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting and spiritual introspection that has become, as well, a time of increased terror attacks. From Iraq to Lebanon to the Sinai, the month of prayer and after-dark feasting is now, often, a month of heightened security." "One possible reason is the belief by some Islamic extremists that those who die in combat for a holy cause during Ramadan are especially blessed."

Editor’s Comment: Is it not interesting that rather than Christians killing unbelievers the Scriptures saith "…Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15.

Israel Insider AHMADINEJAD JOINS HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS CALLING FOR ISRAEL'S DESTRUCTION October 29, 2005 (Edited by DCB) "Iran's new president -- spurning international outrage over his genocidal remarks about Israel -- joined more than a million demonstrators who flooded the streets of the capital and other major cities Friday to back his call for the destruction of the Jewish state. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stood fast behind his Wednesday demand that the Jewish state be wiped off the map and reissued the call during the nationwide protests Friday, the Muslim day of prayer."

Editor’s Comment: Psalm 83: 4 "They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance." Psalm 121:4 "Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep."

The Daily Telegraph 11 October 2005 AMERICANS PLAYING 'SEXUAL ROULETTE' (Edited by DCB) "AMERICANS are playing a risky game of sexual roulette, according to a new poll that found only 39 percent of respondents always ask a new lover if they are infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. The new poll by Zogby for MSNBC.com also found that 73 per cent of respondents were involved in a monogamous relationship and 66 per cent of those surveyed had had unprotected sex while under the influence of alcohol."

Editor’s Comment: Proverbs 14:34 "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people."

The Daily Telegraph OUTBREAK WOULD TRIGGER 'MASS WITHDRAWAL' October 23, 2005 (Edited by DCB) "AN OUTBREAK of a highly-contagious strain of Avian Flu in Australia's north could prompt a mass withdrawal to below the Brisbane line, a senior health official claims. The informed source, who cannot be named, said northern Australia was not, and may never be, prepared for a mass outbreak of contagious forms of the virus."It could do to Darwin what Cyclone Tracy couldn't do, which is annihilate it," he said."

Editor’s Comment: Mt 24:7 "…and there shall be famines, and pestilences…in divers places."

THE BEREAN CALL 26 October 2005 "Sep 12, 2005 PINELLAS PARK--Beneath a skylight in a Christian church, surrounded by stained-glass images of Jesus Christ, Omar Kassem led the Muslim call to prayer in Arabic. ‘God is great,’ the University of South Florida student said to the congregation at Good Samaritan Church, which ended the hourlong Sunday service by announcing ‘salaam,’ the Muslim greeting for peace. Church leaders say the acts served as bookends for a service meant to promote peace and a better understanding between Christians and Muslims four years after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Good Samaritan Church in Pinellas Park is a union of Presbyterian and United Church of Christ denominations. What better church to reach across faiths to destroy stereotypes, said the Rev. Susan Sherwood."

Editor’s Comment: Eph 5:11 "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."

NCC News 27 October 2005 SYMPOSIUM SEES A FUTURE FOR THE ECUMENICAL MOVEMENT, THOUGH NOT IN THE FORM OF COUNCILS AND INSTITUTIONS (Edited by DCB) "October 24, New York As tensions arise between peoples of different religions, Kobia said, the ecumenical vision must change. ‘It is precisely on the question of how Christians relate to people of other faiths that that we currently require a new round of multilateral theological engagement,’ he said. ‘As Christians, as churches, we should be inquiring together as to God’s purpose for us in a multi-cultural world characterized by a diversity of faiths.’ The Patriarch of the Armenian Apostolic Church added that "The ecumenical movement should be a sign of hope in a world of hopelessness," and "We are on the way toward visible unity."

Editor’s Comment: These ecumenists can seek unity with the world’s "diversity of faiths" but God’s purpose for His churches is in Mark 16:15 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Those of other faiths need Christ!

The Daily Telegraph 31 October 2005 ALCOHOL 'JUST PART OF BEING AUSTRALIAN' (Edited by DCB) "ALMOST 50 per cent of people believe getting drunk occasionally is part of being Australian, a survey suggests. The study of more than 1500 Australians, by the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre, found one in 10 reported having a problem with alcohol at some point in their lives. Three in five said they knew a friend or family member who had experienced an alcohol problem." "The study…found people at risk of developing an alcohol problem were more likely to have started drinking at an earlier age, usually 13 or 14." The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre's information manager, Paul Dillon, said people are worried about teenage binge drinking but "…if the population believes getting drunk is part of being Australian, where are they learning it from? They're learning it from the adults." Dillon said that "The age of initiation is getting earlier." However he went on t2o say "…young teens drinking alcohol in a family context, carefully watched over by parents, was appropriate." For "If you're going to be introduced to alcohol in a family context…and mum and dad are talking about drinking in an appropriate way, with rules and guidelines, you could even introduce alcohol earlier."

Editor’s Comment: Earlier! Proverbs 23:9 says "Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words." But there may be some parents who will listen and heed Proverbs 23: 19, 20 "Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way. Be not among winebibbers…"
