Sir,
This letter is in answer to the Liberal’s website "HAVE YOUR SAY" for
24/02/04. Kurt wrote that "Muslims worship that same God that is known to
Adam, Abraham, Noah, Moses, Jesus."
There are others that believe this but it is not what the Bible
teaches. The Bible claims Jesus was God in the flesh which the Islamic
faith denies. Therefore the God of the Bible is not the god of the Muslim.
A few Bible passages that teach the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ are:
1 Timothy 3:16 "And without controversy great is the mystery of
godliness: God was manifest in the flesh…"
John 1:1, 14 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…"
John 5:18 "Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he
not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father,
making himself equal with God."
John 20: 26, 28 "And after eight days again his disciples were within,
and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in
the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. And Thomas answered and said unto
him, My Lord and my God."
Hebrews 1:8 "But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever
and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom."
Does it really matter what one believes concerning Jesus Christ? Yes it
does. Acts 4:12 says "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there
is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be
saved." It makes an eternal difference!
Sincerely,
Dr. David C. Bennett
