JUNE, 2004
Dear Fellow Believers,
Psalm 119:140, 158 "Thy word is very pure: therefore
thy servant loveth it. I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved;
because they kept not thy word."
Hard to believe but 2004 is half over! It is a
good idea to sometimes stop and evaluate how we have used the time God has
given us. It is good to ask if we have used those hours, days, weeks and
months for the Lord or for ourself. Remember, one life will soon be past
and only what's done for Christ will last!
Are the years getting shorter or is it we are just
getting older? Just wondering! The past couple of years we have been
privileged to read through the Bible twice per year and as we said last
month we are seeking to read through the Bible four times this year. We
have now begun our third journey through God's Word this year and as you
personally know one garners something new each reading. It is certainly
true the Word is "a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
We finished the tract for Adam and David took it to
him a few weeks ago. He accepted it saying he would read it. We are
praying he will read it and the Lord will use this tract along with many
others David has given him to speak to his heart concerning his need for
Christ. We rest in Isaiah 55: 10, 11 "For as the rain cometh down, and the
snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and
maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and
bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I
please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
The Lord is good in that He "sendeth rain on the
just and on the unjust." We received 40 millimetres of much needed
rain last week so according to the news the farmers may still have a
winter crop of wheat and canola. The first of June is also the first day
of winter and it has certainly arrived with winter temperatures. We don't
have central heating in the house and the kitchen was just a little above
forty two degrees the morning of winter's first day. BRRRR!
Praise the Lord our Prime Minister has taken a
position that marriage is between one man and one woman preferably for
life. He will soon be presenting legislation proclaiming this before
Federal Parliament for a vote. Of course the sodomy lobby and liberal
politicians are against such legislation but it looks like it may pass. As
these things come to pass we know His coming is drawing closer. As His
coming draws nearer please continue to pray for the salvation of Adam,
Mark, and John and the spiritual growth of John, Lynne, Gary, Jim, and
Margaret.
Petrol continues to rise here just as it has been
there in the USA. Here petrol is almost five dollars a gallon with no end
in sight. With an election sometime later this year the opposition
says the price of petrol will go down if they are elected. Promises! If we
went into Iraq for oil it doesn't look like it worked. Of course driving
to Gilgandra twice a week has put an added burden on the budget with these
high prices but thus far the Lord has provided the funds. This last
February we have been in Australia twenty five years and our God has
always supplied all our needs according to his riches in glory by Christ
Jesus through churches and friends like you. Thank you again for your
generosity and may the Lord richly bless.
