Dear Prayer Partners,
John 4:13 "Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of
this water shall thirst again." Re 22:17 "And the Spirit and the
bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is
athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life
freely."
Water! It consists of only two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen.
Simple, but yet it is a most precious item! Water is absolutely
necessary for human survival. It is said a lack of water will kill us
faster than the lack of food. It is sad NASA is spending billions to see
if there is water and therefore life on other planets when God’s Word
already tells us that of all the planets the earth is unique in that
"…God himself…formed it to be inhabited…" Isaiah 45:18. And it is to
this world with the precious physical life giving water, that God sent
His only begotten Son to provide for man spiritual living water!
The woman of John 4 had come to quench her physical thirst but
by the good hand of God she met Him Who offered her "living water".
Spurgeon says that "Water was uppermost in her thoughts, and Jesus
sanctified the element to his own gracious end."
The city in which we live has an abundance of religious wells but
most of them offer contaminated water containing deadly elements
(doctrines) which only lead to death! Sorrowful indeed! However, as sad
as it is, the majority of people that live around us (and you) are
content to frequent those contaminated wells. There they gladly receive
the Kool-Aid gospel that is sweet to the taste but death to the soul.
Pray as we seek with the Lord’s help to build a fundamental Gospel
preaching independent Baptist church in Dubbo and Gilgandra.
We received a phone call the last week of January from Jenny, a
young mother, who has heard us on radio. She called not asking about
spiritual matters but asking for grocery money. We arranged with the
local grocery store to help her with this need and we pray this may be
the beginning in her coming to Him as her Saviour. Then our last Sunday
of January Linda and her six year old son visited. She just moved to
Dubbo and is a believer and seems keen to learn. We also ask you to
remember these before the Lord for salvation: Mark, Tim, John,
Elizabeth, Bob, Adrian and Anne.
Then there is the physically dry land in which we live.
Australia is said to be the driest continent and this summer has been
one of the driest in years. December has been one of the hottest on
record with temperatures consistently over 100% F. January has not been
much better. We are now on water restrictions. This is from the local
newspaper of 4th January. "Urgent mandatory water restrictions are being
imposed in Dubbo due to the ongoing heatwave. Local residents will be
restricted to no external watering between 9am and 6pm and only hand
held hoses to be used outside of these times. The filling of swimming
pools is also forbidden. Dangerous weather conditions led to a total
fire ban in Dubbo yesterday. As bushfires continue to spark across the
State, the large amounts of fuel, high temperatures and wind in the
local area forced the NSW Rural Fire Service to impose the ban
throughout the entire central west plains."
In closing we again thank you for your support of finances and
prayer. To God be the glory!
Serving the Risen and Soon Coming Saviour,
David and Pam Bennett
