AUSTRALIA

  MARCH – APRIL 2010

Dear Friends in the Gospel,

In 1 John 4:18 we read “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones commenting on this wrote “The Christian should be free from the fear of judgment. The natural man should fear it; the Christian should be free from such fear. Is there anything that is more glorious about the Gospel than just that?”

As Dr. Lloyd-Jones said “the natural man should fear” judgment but it seems many or most of those we come into contact with do not. They may fear the thoughts of death but there seems to be no deliberation concerning a righteous God and personal judgment. Pray with us for the boldness to proclaim Biblical Gospel truth and for God “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith...” (Acts 26:18)

PRAYER:

We have spoken of our unsaved friends Bob and Elizabeth many times. Bob flew to Sydney the last part of February for tests due to a recent (what the doctors called) mild heart attack. It was discovered that he has two blocked arteries so an appointment was made for him to enter hospital in Sydney and have these arteries unblocked. Unfortunately due to the shape of his arteries they were unable to do a balloon or stents plus they said he is not a candidate for by-pass. Their only advice was changing his diet and way of life. Bob had already changed his way of life for he just retired. Pray for the Lord to work this situation unto Bob and Elizabeth’s salvation.

Then there is Hilton, an 81 year old Roman Catholic man we have known for several years and see almost weekly. He is a real gentleman but spiritually lost. We have given him several tracts which we trust he has read. Please pray for Hilton as the Lord brings him to your mind.

We invite you to visit our fellowship website at http://www.ourchurch.com/member/d/dubbo4christ/ . The address is a long one and hard to remember due to the fact that it is a free web site. This is the web address we use for our advertising here in Dubbo and because it is a free web site it does mean we are limited in some respects but again it is free. Also we want to mention that the community radio station (WAR FM) will be streaming on the Internet sometime this year. It was supposed to be up and running by now but due to some technical problems it has been delayed. We will inform you as to the address when it is in operation. However, one must remember we are right now 15 hours ahead of those living in the Eastern Standard Time Zone. You then subtract one hour for Central and two for Mountain etc. Of course the time difference is also affected by when we and you are on daylight savings time. Presently we are on daylight savings. It does get somewhat confusing but our programmes are Friday 2 – 4pm and Sunday 1 – 2pm.

LOCAL INTEREST:

In the local paper recently there was the article DUBBO DUBBED ROO-COLLISION CAPITAL. It said in part “You are more likely to hit a kangaroo in Dubbo than in any other part of NSW according to figures from the NRMA Insurance research team.” Fortunately we have never hit a kangaroo but due to the draught they have been out in greater numbers seeking water. We have seen some large ones dead on the side of the roads and the vehicles that hit them would have had some real damage.

Once again thank you for your prayers and giving. “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think...”

Yours in the Service of the King of Kings,
David and Pam Bennett
