SEPTEMBER, 2004
Dear Prayer Partners,
Ephesians 1: 2, 3 "Grace be to you, and peace, from
God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual
blessings in heavenly places in Christ."
Spring is around the corner, first of September,
and the Magpies are out in force. This photo from the 25 August Sydney
Morning Herald shows the aggressiveness of the male Magpie at this time of
year. David was attacked a couple of times while mowing our front lawn. He
quickly put a wide brim hat on which helps a lot!
"Spring's pecking order August 25, 2004 - BLEEDING
ears, ducking heads and nervous skyward glances – it must be spring."
Sydney Morning Herald.
We will seek to bring you up to date on Pam’s mother.
She is living with Pam’s sister in Ottumwa and is doing much better. Pam
called her one day in August. Her memory is not as good as it once was but
other than that, she seems to be getting along quite good. She still
believes as soon as she is able she will be moving back to her house and
everything will be as it was before the hospital. However, that is not to
be. Thank you for your prayers for her health and her salvation. As you
know, the Lord can save anyone who will repent and believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord for that!
The Leys are neighbours who recently had their first
child, a baby girl, Charlotte. Pam made a dress for Charlotte and we
went by to see mum, dad and baby delivering the dress along with a
Children's King James Bible and the booklet THE IMPORTANCE OF THE HOME. We
were warmly welcomed and had a good visit. Mrs. Leys said they would read
the booklet. Please pray the Lord will begin a work in their hearts
resulting in their coming to Him as their Saviour.
This month we had a couple of larger than normal
purchases for the ministry. First, we purchased what is called here a
desktop finishing system. This machine allows us to punch and bind
booklets. We used this to bind David's booklet THE IMPORTANCE OF THE HOME
that we gave to the Leys. It just makes the product look more
professional. The cost for this was $400. Another purchase was eighteen
music CD's ordered from the states at a cost of $226 (this included
postage). This will give us further variety in the music we play on the
two radio programmes. If the Lord would lead you, to give toward one of
these items your tax-deductible gift may be sent to Missions at Bible For
Today Baptist Church, 900 Park Ave., Collingswood, NJ 08108.
David went by to see "Irish" Mark again. Mark
said he read the Chick tract and found it interesting and this allowed
David to talk to him a little more concerning spiritual matters. David
gave him another tract to which Mark said he would read. Continue to pray
for "Irish" Mark's salvation. 1Peter 1:23 "Being born again, not of
corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth
and abideth for ever."
As you in the United States draw closer to your
November elections, our government has called for a Federal election to
take place on Saturday 9 October. No sooner had the Prime Minister
called the election and the big three were on the streets protesting.
These big three are the pro-choice (pro-murder of the unborn), pro-gay
(pro sodomite), and anti-Iraq war. It will be interesting to see how the
media use these six weeks in their reporting up to the election.
Please continue to pray for the salvation of "Irish"
Mark, Aussie Mark, John, the Leys, the Lloyds, and the McKinleys.
Also, continue to pray for the spiritual growth of God's people, Gary, Jon
and Lynne, and Jim and Margaret. Jim and Margaret continue to have
problems with their son who is now on medication again to help him get off
heroin.
Exodus 17: 12 "But Moses' hands were heavy; and
they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and
Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the
other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun."
Sometimes the load does get heavy, and we thank the Lord for our Aaron and
Hur that lift us up in prayer. Your prayers and gifts keep us on the
firing line.

David and Pam Bennett, Titus 2:13
