Dear Friends in Christ Jesus,

Psalm 40:5 "Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Psalm 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork."

The Australian summer continues with very hot days and no rain in sight. In fact some meteorologists have said we may not receive any rain until the end of the year. Dubbo is on self imposed water restrictions and if that isnít enough water restrictions will be enforced. This is the worse drought in over a century they say. The drought will have a big impact on the Dubbo economy and eventually on the Australian economy.

On the last Thursday night of the last week of January Phyllis Morgan telephoned. She, Abel, Lois Towney (and Loisí grand-daughter from Brisbane) were in Dubbo visiting an aboriginal gentleman in hospital. Pam spoke to her for awhile and invited them to our house for a cuppa (cup of coffee) and some biscuits (cookies). We always have a pot of coffee on and Pam always has some homemade biscuits baked so they came out and we had a good time of fellowship. Abel and Phyllis havenít found a house to rent in Coffs Harbour yet. We are glad they havenít as we would personally like to see them stay here. However, now their only child, a son (Heath), and his wife have moved back to New South Wales from Perth, Western Australia. Heath and his wife are presently living with Abel and Phyllis in Gilgandra but will be moving to Coffs sometime in the near future. This move of Heathís seems to be unexpected and Abel and Phyllis havenít said much about it.

The last Sunday of January was Australia Day. We invited an unsaved lady, Judy, and her family (of seven children and one grandson) to the morning Australia Day service and then to our house for a barbecue. Our desire was she, her husband, seven children and grandson would all attend. But as the Lord had it he just got back from a trip (he is a truck driver) one half hour before the service and did not come. So Judy came with only her ten year old son, eight year old daughter, twenty year old daughter and her friend. We also invited the Gilgandra Fellowship for the service and then to our house for the barbecue. Judy and her family arrived when the service was half over which was disappointing. However, we trust the Lord planted a seed in what they did hear of the message, ALMOST PERSUADED TO BE A CHRISTIAN, from Acts 26: 28 "Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian." The barbecue (David was the chef as seen in the photo) went well even though the temperature was in the mid-hundreds.

In the last week of January the local paper ran an article that needed to be addressed. We have edited the article for printing in this letter. The heading to the article was; TEAM SPREADING MESSAGE ABOUT....DISEASE

"If you're enjoying a drink at the pub in the next few weeks and someone approaches you wanting to talk it's not a pick-up line, but an attempt to stop the spread of chlamydia in Dubbo. A team from Macquarie Area Health Service (MAHS) will be visiting local hotels during the next six weeks to discuss the disease with young people in a friendly and informal way..."

ĎWe will be approaching groups of people at the pub and we will ask if they want to have a quick chat about.... health,í Ms Bullen said.

ĎThey are free to ask any questions and it is a great opportunity to increase your knowledge without going out of your way.í

Dubbo hotels have been very supportive of the Chlamydia campaign and the team will also be taking the message to pubs in Wellington and Coonamble."

Davidís letter read:

"Dear Sir,

The team from Macquarie Area Health Service (MAHS) means well and believes they are doing the right thing I am sure. However, this is not the first time health workers have sought to inform and educate people concerning the risk of.... and the benefits of "safe...." Who really knows how much taxpayerís money is spent on such programmes?

Go to and download Fact Sheet No. 1. Under heading: How can Chlamydia be avoided? you will read one way of preventing Chlamydia is "limiting the number of.... partners."

Good advice from the health department but the health department needs to go further if they really desire to stop Chlamydia. To eventually eliminate Chlamydia and other....transmitted diseases we must limit the number to one man and one woman united together till death do them part, monogamy. This means parents (father and mother) teach their children by word and example that marriage is honourable and therefore no pre-marital....and when married no adultery. This advice may seem prudish and old fashioned to those who do not agree but it is advice that will keep you (1) physically and (2) emotionally healthy.

Monogamy and or abstinence guarantees....transmitted diseases will eventually be stopped. That means more tax dollars to be used for essentials!"

There will probably be a number of letters of disagreement we are certain for our society is rapidly moving further from God and into all unrighteousness, fornication and wickedness, Romans 1:29. Pray that we may flesh out the truth of being "....blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation" shining "as lights in the world." Philippians 2:15. As we seek daily to live for Him in this world we remember He "came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Luke 5:32. However, Davidís letter hasnít yet been printed. The paper seems to be too busy printing letters from those in the community against any attack on Iraq.

One Saturday David had to replace some irrigation pipe in the yard and something (we think it was an ant) bit his right hand. Boy, did it swell up. We thought it would eventually go down but early the next morning he had to go to the Emergency room at the hospital. They gave him a tetanus shot plus a pill for the incessant itching. One wonders how such a small thing like an ant can cause so much swelling and pain. That little ant bite is also the way of sin. Many believe they can live a life committing "little" sins and all will be right but all will not be right. Even "little" sins are "sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out." Numbers 32:23.

Thank you so much for your continued prayers as we with His help "stand against the wiles of the devil." Ephesians 5:11. Your financial support is very much appreciated and we THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!

To God be the Glory,

David and Pam
