APRIL 2002

Dear Prayer Partners,

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 1:7.

We trust this letter finds you rejoicing in the goodness of our Lord. Psalm 31:19; 33:21 "Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee." "For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name."

In March we had the joy of having two visitors in the services, Kathlyn and Josephine, all the way from England. They are sisters and were visiting a niece living in Dubbo. Kathlyn is a member of a Primitive Baptist Church back in England while Josephine is an unsaved Roman Catholic. They were with us two Sundays. Their brother, Jim, came down from Brisbane to take them back to Brisbane for a visit. He came to the service with them their second Sunday in Dubbo. He too is unsaved. Pray the Lord will do a work of grace in Jim and Josephine’s hearts and they will trust Christ as their personal Saviour.

Many who are buying a home are interested in what house prices are doing in other areas. We have placed an article on Dubbo prices on under "New news". Dubbo is a growing regional country town nearing almost forty thousand in population.

We find many go to church but most cannot give a clear testimony of knowing the Lord Jesus. One of the churches had a "Spirituality in the Pub" night! Others such as the Roman Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran, and Uniting held ecumenical Bible studies during Lent. Please continue to pray with and for us as we hand out tracts, knock on doors, preach the Word, and seek to communicate the gospel one on one. Pray for these unsaved people: Mark (non-practicing Roman Catholic), Tim (nothing), Adrian (practicing Roman Catholic) & Anne (high Church of England), Bob (Uniting Church) & Elizabeth (practicing Roman Catholic), Robyn (nothing), Adam (nothing), Nathan (nothing), and Cleary and LeAnn (non-practicing Roman Catholic). Jeremiah 33:3 "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." 2 Tim. 4:2 "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season."

We sent out a couple of emails in early March concerning a young aboriginal mother, Sheri, who was in Dubbo hospital for marijuana use. Sheri has three little girls all with different fathers. While in hospital Pam had a couple of long talks with her and gave her several tracts plus a Gospel of John and Romans. Only God can break through her hard heart and open it to where she will attend unto the things of which we speak as Lydia did in Acts 16. She has since been dismissed and has taken her youngest daughter to Brisbane to spend time with her grandmother. Sheri’s mother has since told us Sheri has met a man who lives near her grandmothers in Brisbane. She is will be taking her three daughters to Brisbane to live with him. Marriage is not yet on the table but this is a way of life for all too many.

March saw two others in hospital. John Ferguson (attends our Gilgandra meeting) had a stroke and is in Dubbo hospital. They as yet haven’t said when he will be dismissed. Lois (Sheri’s mother who occasionally attends the Gilgandra meeting) had pneumonia and was in Gilgandra hospital. We give tracts to many when we visit the hospital and thus far they have willingly accepted the tracts. We pray they will be read and used of the Lord in someone coming to faith in Him. So far we have given tracts to people as faraway as Lightning Ridge (where some of the world’s best opal comes from) and Walgett. The aboriginal man from Walgett had been flown in to Dubbo by helicopter the day before for broken ribs sustained when he fell while drunk.

We have several friends in the states for which we are praying. One has had a bad back for several years and now his lungs and breathing are being affected. He is younger than David and has had to take early retirement. Another is a friend David went to high school with and he is in need of a heart transplant. Then we have two female friends (one in her 80’s) going through cancer treatment. 2Corinthians 1:3 "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort."

Again we ask that if you have email please send your address to so we can keep you up to date on happenings and pray with us.

In closing a friend emailed and reminded us of what Adoniram Judson said to one who asked what his prospects were? Judson replied "The prospects are as bright as the promises of God." Still true! Again we thank each of you for your prayers and financial support. To God be the glory!
