AUGUST, 2001

Dear Prayer Partners,

Romans 10: 11-15 "For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"

Sunday 29 July was our combined meeting between the Dubbo and Gilgandra fellowships. This is also our missionary Sunday where the entire offering goes to a home or foreign missionary. Praise the Lord we were able to send $200 to home missionary Pastor Liam Luz in Port Adelaide, South Australia.

Thus far the Lord has allowed us to send two offerings to brother Luz, and one offering to Brother Hadfield, an Australian independent Baptist church planting missionary to New Zealand and one offering to brother Holowaty, an independent Baptist church planting missionary to Paraguay. Our next missions offering (30 September) is designated for the Zooef's in Kazakastan. Adrian and Ann McKinley are unsaved friends who used to live in Dubbo but have recently moved to Tamworth in northern New South Wales. He is Roman Catholic and she high church Anglican but attended several preaching services when they lived in Dubbo. They were in Dubbo the last week of July and visited us in our home. David was able to discuss some Scriptural things with Adrian who seems to know more than the average Roman Catholic does. David and Adrian also discussed the ecumenical climate and Adrian made a statement of which David took note. Adrian calls us dissenters and said the only hurdle for unity with other churches is their accepting the Pope as official head of the church. He believed all other differences could be negotiated. When they left David gave Adrian the ETERNITY tract. Pray they will read it and this may be the beginning of the Lord's dealing with their coming to faith in Christ. We had Bob and Elizabeth Lloyd (he is Uniting Church and she Roman Catholic) to our home a couple of times in July. They are both school teachers and she is very interested in sewing, patchwork, etc. so she enjoys Pam's company. We have given them several tracts but as many of you know from personal witnessing experiences there is often no visible conviction. Please continue to pray for Bob and Elizabeth's salvation. We seek to be faithful in preaching "the word; be instant in season, out of season" to those the Lord brings our way but as for now they "will not come to me (Him), that ye (they) might have life." 2 Timothy 4:2; John 5:40. Pray we will continue to "be found faithful." 1 Corinthians 4:2 Andy and Ellen have not attended a service since they came back from Sydney.

As we said in our last letter David has visited them and now Pam has gone by to see them. She had a good visit but they did not give any reason why they have not returned or if they plan to attend again. Pray for them as well. The Lord Jesus said in Revelation 3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten." Also please add these to your prayer list. John Ferguson is an elderly aboriginal who has been attending the Gil fellowship. He was recently in hospital for what they think was a stroke and is now home. Abel and Phyllis Morgan are in need of a car. The car they were driving was her father's and when he passed away a few years ago he willed it to a family in Sydney who had befriended him at some time. We don't understand this but that is what he did. The couple to whom the car was left now want the car and that leaves Abel and Phyllis without transport. Last month was a great month for computer virus. David received three emails with attachments containing a virus. Fortunately he only opened one but that was enough. He has an anti-virus on the computer so it didn't do as much damage as it could have. He downloaded the attachment he opened onto a CD which in turn affected those Word documents he had saved on the CD. He was able to get online and download a programme to fix it. Now he has upgraded the anti-virus hardware. In the future he will not open attachments until David has verified the attachment with the sender first. Again we want to remind you to pray for our mini-furlough next year. Pray the Lord will use us in someway to stir hearts for witnessing and missions.
