Dear Dr. Waite and Bible For Today Baptist Church,

2 Corinthians 9:15

"Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift."

Another year is drawing to a quick conclusion. Sadly for some Christmas is often a time of trees, decorations or just a holiday from work and school rather than a celebration and giving of thanks to God for His "unspeakable gift." May this not be true of us who know the Lord as Saviour.

Many things change through the years such as the laws of the land. However, the Great Commission given by the Lord Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." has never changed. This Matthew passage outlines New Testament missions as evangelism culminating in the establishment of a New Testament immersionist Church. Pray with us that the goal of Matthew 28: 19-20 will soon be fulfilled in our area of service here in Dubbo and Gilgandra. In Luke 5:32 Jesus said "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Then in Luke 19:10 He said "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." The world continues to be composed of sinners to whom we are called to go with the gospel. On this thought we quote Spurgeon from MORNING AND EVENING for December 7 on 1 Corinthians 1:28 "And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen." Spurgeon wrote "Walk the streets by moonlight, if you dare, and you will see sinners then. Watch when the night is dark, and the wind is howling, and the picklock is grating in the door, and you will see sinners then. Go to yon jail, and walk through the wards, and mark the men with heavy over-hanging brows, men whom you would not like to meet at night, and there are sinners there. Go to the Reformatories, and note those who have betrayed a rampant juvenile depravity, and you will see sinners there. Go across the seas to the place where a man will gnaw a bone upon which is reeking human flesh, and there is a sinner there. Go where you will, you need not ransack earth to find sinners, for they are common enough; you may find them in every lane and street of every city, and town, and village, and hamlet. It is for such that Jesus died. If you will select me the grossest specimen of humanity, if he be but born of woman, I will have

hope of him yet, because Jesus Christ is come to seek and to save sinners." Many years have passed since Spurgeon wrote those words but they are as true today as they were then.

Our home sending church, Bible For Today Baptist, purchased two thousand 2003 pocket calendars with the names of the fellowships and other pertinent information on the front above the calendar dates and a gospel message on the back. These will be distributed in the weeks before the New Year. We pray they may be used in bringing a lost sinner to Christ. Bible For Today Baptist also sends videos of Dr. Waiteís Sunday morning exposition of Scripture. These messages are an encouragement and we thank Bible For Today Baptist Church for doing this for us.

We also want to THANK those who sent cards and monetary gifts for Pamís birthday in November. THANK YOU very much. This encourages us to know our churches and individual friends remember these special days in our lives.

The year 2002 is almost history and as we look toward 2003 we ask you to pray for:

1 .Us as we seek to be faithful in our calling.

2. The unsaved to which we witness. A few of the unsaved are, Mark, Adrian, Anne, Bob

and Elizabeth.

3. Godís people who are a part of the fellowships, Jon and Lynne, Abel and Phyllis, Jim

and Margaret, and John and Rose.

4 .Our need of $1500 monthly support. Please consider this as you plan your 2003 budget.

5. Our youngest grandson, 18 month old William Skinner. He has had tests for what the

doctorís thought might be a tumor. They have now said it is not a tumor but what it

is has not yet been diagnosed.

In closing we again say we thank God for His "unspeakable gift" and for each of you who have supported us with your prayers and financial gifts throughout 2002. May you have a blessed Christmas and New Year. Romans 16: 27 "To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen."
