MARCH, 2005

Dear saints in Christ Jesus,

Philippians 1: 1 "Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." We want to thank each of you for your prayers not only for us but also for those God has entrusted into our care. As we have stated in earlier letters Gary and his mother will be going back to England 31 March for six months. At this time Gary is planning to return to Dubbo in September but whether he will stay or go back to England he is not certain at this time. Gary has been very faithful and will be deeply missed during this time.

Jim and Margaretís son, Malcolm, has been clean from heroin for two months now. He just arrived back into Sydney after spending a few weeks with his elder brother who is an executive with Master Cardís Asia/Pacific office in Singapore. Please continue to pray for Malcolm that (1) he will continue to stay off heroin and (2) for his coming to know the Lord as his Saviour.

On our Sunday radio programme The Gospel Hour heaven has been the subject for a couple of weeks with songs relating to the same. Along with this we have also been reading The Heavenly Footman by John Bunyan. Then on Friday afternoonís CrossTalk, we have been reading a booklet, Advice to Children, by a Baptist preacher and published in 1883. There are 12 principles given which may be old but continue to be very pertinent even for our time! We continue to ask the Lord to speak with hearts as one never knows who may be listening.

Last month we mentioned a supporting church needing to decrease their monthly support due to financial difficulty. Praise the Lord a supporter has communicated they are picking up a part of that loss. However, the good news was followed closely by news from another supporting church experiencing the same difficulty.

Now the Word tells us "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you" (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Paul was prone to hyperbole or was he? In Philippians 4:11 Paul said "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."

Being thankful and content reminds us of a story Spurgeon told of a poor widow and her two children. Spurgeon said "On a cold winterís night, they discovered an empty house, into which they went for shelter. There was an old door standing by itself, and the mother took it, placed it across a corner of the room, and told the children to creep behind it so as to get a little protection from the cold wind. One of the children said, ĎOh Mother, what will those poor children do, that havenít got any door to set up to keep out the wind?í That child was grateful even for such a poor shelter as that."

Thank you for your prayers and financial support. Psalm 103: 2 "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits."

Joyfully Serving the Risen Lord,

David and Pam Bennett
