AUGUST - SEPTEMBER, 2009

Dear Prayer Partners

The Preacher said Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour Ecclesiastes 4:9.  Proverbs 18:22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing... Non-conformist Matthew Henry in commenting on this verse said that a bad wife does not deserve to be called by a name of so much honour. How thankful I am to the Lord for giving me a good wife. We just arrived back home from house to house tract distribution. In Sydney we saw several come to know Christ as Saviour through tract distribution but it has not been so here and it has been at times discouraging but as the Preacher also said For if they fall, (or get discouraged) the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth (or gets down in the dumps); for he hath not another to help him up Ecclesiastes 4:10. The ministry along with life itself would be very lonely without a good help meet.

The 9th of August was Jim and Margarets last Sunday. They will be moving to their new home in Bathurst the 19th of August. The fellowship had a going away for them after the service on Sunday the 9th. They have been very faithful in their attendance for which we praise the Lord. They have grown in several areas of which one is their faithful reading of the Scriptures through at least once a year. The fellowship gave them the entire Bible on CD read by Alexander Scourby and a God Bless this House wall plaque to remember their time with us.

Our daughter in-law takes our two grand-children (the other nine live in the states) to a play group each week and one day she was telling Caleb not to do something which he continued doing. She went over and disciplined him telling him the Bible tells us to obey in all things as this was one of his memory verses. One of the mothers, Denise, whose daughter has also received one of our Childrens Bibles, over heard Lynne and made a positive comment about the verse. Lynne asked if we would print out the memory verse for Denise so this we have done along with other verses Caleb has been learning. Denise and her husband are non-practising Roman Catholics. Please pray for the Lords working in their hearts unto repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour.

June was also a month when several people we knew passed away. An 85 year old neighbour of ours passed away late last month. We knew him mainly because Pam picks his wife up for sewing class. Andy and Gloria were very nice people off the farm and were adamant that you not talk to them about religion at all. Our last visit with him was in hospital but a stroke had pretty much clouded his mind to where he did not really know us. They had just moved him to a nursing home when he died. His funeral was a private one for just the immediate family. Gloria had a couple of weeks off from the sewing class but Pam has begun to pick her up again. Gloria has heard Pams testimony so pray another opportunity will present itself for Pam to clearly present the gospel to her. Also in June one of Pams aunts passed away. She was in her eighties and had a stroke and was in hospital when she died. As far as we know she did not know the Lord. Then the 91 year old father of the best man at our wedding passed away. He and his family attended the same church my folks and I attended when I was a boy at home. These deaths once again declare the urgent fact that behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation 2Corinthias 6:2.

Again thank you for your prayers and financial gifts. Jeremiah 10:10 But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king...

In Christ,

David and Pam Bennett
