The
29 November radio debate went well. It was interesting to hear the Muslim
and Roman Catholic tell a few things about their beliefs or unbelief. The Muslim
and Roman Catholic had more in common with each other than either did with
David. We trust the Lord will use this radio programme in days ahead to reach someone for the Saviour. December

Before
we get to far into the letter
we want to inform you we had another granddaughter born Friday 26 October to
Matthew and Alyson. Her name is Dana Lynn! That gives us four grandsons and
three granddaughters. Our tribe continues to increase, praise the Lord! November

The
wedding went well with David performing the ceremony. Of course the bride
looked beautiful in the wedding dress she made herself. She is a seamstress like
her mother in-law. The following Monday, 17th September, Jonathan and Lynne flew
to Hawaii for a one-week honeymoon. They are now back and getting settled into
real life. Our youngest son and child, Matthew, flew over to be best man. He was
here for only two weeks but it was still hard to say goodbye at the Sydney
airport. He was a little nervous in flying but anxious to get back to Iowa and
his family. October 2001 Prayer Letter

As
we labour in Dubbo,
Gilgandra and surrounding towns we pray for the Lord's work in the hearts of
unsaved and saved. We desire for the unsaved to come to faith in Christ and for
the saved to be obedient in separating from the apostate and new evangelical
churches. Many an independent Baptist work was begun in Australia through a few
believers practicing the doctrine of Bible separation from apostasy and new
evangelicalism and joining themselves to an independent Baptist work. September

Sunday 29 July was
our combined meeting between the Dubbo and Gilgandra fellowships. This is
also our missionary Sunday where the entire offering goes to a home or foreign
missionary. Praise the Lord we were able to send $200 to home missionary Pastor
Liam Luz in Port Adelaide, South Australia. August

It
is winter and the frost has been on the pumpkin several mornings.
Some mornings it almost looks like snow but that doesn't make us homesick for
Iowa and the real thing. If it wasn't frost it was fog. A couple of mornings the
fog was so thick it was almost 11am before it lifted. David went by to visit
Andy and Ellen Thompson. They didn't give any reason as to why they have not
been back to church since coming home from Sydney. David didn't ask and they and
didn't mention wanting to begin the Bible studies again. July

We
are the proud grandparents of a new bouncing baby boy, William Robert Skinner.
William was born on our youngest son Matthew's birthday, 27 May at 4.24 p.m. He
weighed six pounds eight ounces and was twenty inches long. The weight and
measurement was for the lady readers. There were some complications but mother
and baby are home and doing fine. The birth of this little one means God has
blessed us with six grandchildren. Praise the Lord! The seventh is due 28
October this year! June 2001 Prayer Letter

What
a precious truth those verses preach! Sadly the local paper carried
editorials by four of the clergy at Easter and only one gave anything close to a
gospel message. Surprisingly it was the pastor of the charismatic Baptist Union
church. The other three (Uniting, Catholic, and Anglican) had only a social
message of tolerance, peace, and love. One of the paper's journalists wrote an
article seeking to explain why Mary Magdalene wrote the Gospel of John. The
article was out and out heresy to say the least and demanded a rebuttal, which
David wrote. We trust the Lord will use this to reach someone in this religious
but lost city. April-May 2001 Prayer Letter

As
the land needs refreshing physical rain so the parched souls of our people need
the Water of Life found in the Word of God. Isaiah 55: 10, 11 "For as the
rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth
the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower,
and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it
shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and
it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Thank you for sending us
to preach the unsearchable claims of Christ! March

January 15 was Gilgandra Baptist
Fellowship's Kid's Club held at the Country Women's Hall, Gilgandra. We had
twelve children attend the first club for which we praise the Lord! The
temperature was well over 100 degrees and the children drank over 14 liters of
cordial. IT WAS HOT! The building did not have air-conditioning but did have
ceiling fans in one section, which was good. This kid's club day opened the door
to homes to which we had no entry earlier. Most of the children come from
unchurched homes and many are aboriginal. February

Some have asked about the locust plague we were
expecting. We didn't get as many locusts here in our part of the state as
they expected. We did have about two hundred (our count when we vacuumed them
up) get into the house and die. Fortunately David found the opening where they
were entering before they completely took over. In closing we once again quote
the prince of preachers. January 2001 Prayer Letter
