CHARLESTON, Illinois MEETINGS WERE A DELIGHT!

February 12--15--06 ^ CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH ^ Pastor Eric Maynard DR. WAITE AND I LEFT FOR CHARLESTON, ILLINOIS, ON SATURDAY (2/11/06) AROUND NOON FROM PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.   It only took two hours to get to Indianapolis, Indiana.  I am always amazed how we can get places quickly.  Our covered wagon ancestors, if we had any, would be amazed!  LINDA & AL HOUSTON met us at the airport, grabbed our bags, and off we went for the two-hour-drive to our destination, visiting all the way.  It was delightful!     

WHY WE USE AND DEFEND THE KING JAMES BIBLE was the theme of the conference (BFT #3263/1-5 @ $15.00+$5 S&H and/ or BFT #3263DVD or VHS video tape @ $15.00+$5 S&H).  YOU'LL BE DELIGHTED!  Once again I was amazed at Dr. Waite's knowledge of the textual, King James Bible defense subject.  I have stopped videotaping most of my husband's meetings except our home church services here in Collingswood ; but as a favor to PASTOR ERIC MAYNARD, we brought our video equipment.  I wish you could see us with all the gear and suitcases!  My husband brings his power-point machine, as well as his laptop computer.  That, with two suitcases and our carry-on's, makes us look like we're going to a far-away place for an endless time.  But no!  It's just the WAITES going to our meeting!    

IT IS ONLY RECENTLY THAT PASTOR ERIC MAYNARD HAS COME TO THE RECEIVED TEXT POSITION, IN REGARDS TO DEFENDING THE KING JAMES BIBLE.  He met my husband via our BFT Internet/web page (www.BibleForToday.org).  It was there that he heard Dr. Waite on the SermonAudio.com .  Have you checked our site?  Pastor Maynard is often a part of our church's live "streaming" on Sunday afternoons at 1:30 P.M. and Thursday nights at 8:00 P.M.   (CLICK ON THE BROWN BAR.)  Even though we are "LIVE" on Sunday mornings, Pastor Maynard can't hear or watch us at 10:00 A.M., for he is preaching in his own church.  (GUESS YOU KNOW THAT ALL OUR FORMER YEARS OF CHURCH SERVICES ARE "STREAMED" 24/7).  You can order ANY of Dr. Waite's teachings of the epistles, as well as Revelation, on audio tape and video tapes (VHS's, or DVD's).  Call us at 1-800-John 10:9 for ordering information.    

IT WAS DELIGHTFUL BEING WITH MRS. MAYNARD AND THEIR TWO CHILDREN, MIRANDA (age five) AND TIMOTHY (age three).  Of course, we can't forget their little brown dachshund, Lucy.  Cute doesn't describe her!  Delightful might!  JULIE MAYNARD HAD US OVER FOR LUNCH ONE DAY.   Did I say LUNCH?   It was a regular Thanksgiving dinner--and good, too.  Also, we ate with them at two Chinese restaurants.   One afternoon, after lunch at Wendy's, we "did" a mall.  Mostly I avoid them as the cement floors are hard on my feet.  But I "forced" myself to enjoy and LO & BEHOLD found a skirt and top in spite of myself.   I was delighted!  IT WILL BE GOOD FOR OUR TRIP TO NORTHERN IRELAND MARCH 28th.    

ONE NIGHT, I THINK IT WAS TUESDAY, THERE WERE SEVEN PREACHERS IN THE CONGREGATION.  I wish I could name them all for you.  Pastor Maynard had a picture taken of the whole group.  You can see us on his web-sight: http://www.cbccharleston.com/.   How good to have PASTOR BILL HENDRICKS FROM GRAFTON, IL drive two-and-a-half-hours to be with us.  He's a part of THE DEAN BURGON SOCIETY, you know.  The night before, another Dean Burgon Society person,  DR. PHIL STRINGER, drove three-and-a-half-hours from Chicago to take us out to dinner and attend that night's service.    PASTOR VIRGIL BAKER was there, too.  He's been a faithful pastor in MARANATHA BAPTIST CHURCH in MATTOON, ILLINOIS for at least thirty years!  He took us out to breakfast the following morning.  BUT MOST OF ALL:  we were delighted to have PASTOR GEORGE G. NIKA from Martinsville, Illinois in the congregation.   He is ninety-one.  He does his own driving, speaks almost every Sunday in a church in the area, and still loves Jesus and THE BOOK.   He was the pastor of our youth from GRAYTON ROAD BAPTIST CHURCH in our Ohio days. That's the church that started in my grandparent's house!  Fifty-seven years ago, we were married in that little one-room-school-house-type-building.  Its  former site is now part of  Cleveland's Hopkins International Airport .  Today it's name is  Berea Baptist Church in Berea, Ohio.  How well I remember that the airplanes would fly so low, over our church roof, that we thought one might land on us any minute.
